Exclusive Kingfisher Calendar Year 2009

Very Exclusive Kingfisher Calendar Year 2009 First Look

The Kingfisher Calendar for 2009 brings in beauties from across the globe

It's undoubtedly the most looked forward to release each year, bringing 12 months of sheer glitz and glamour in one go. Keeping with its theme of raising a 'toast to the good times', the Kingfisher Calendar 2009 edition is set to go bigger and better. And how do we know that? Well, a preview just arrived and from first look, it's bronzed babes all the way. The calendar has been shot by ace fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar in the super exclusive Six Senses Hideaway Resorts at Koi Samui and Yao Noi in Thailand. Giving a true global appeal to the calendar, this year brings in six models from across the globe. There's Tamara Moss from Holland, Nargis Fakhri from Czech Republic, Mimi Blix who shuttles between Norway and Uganda; the Russian Katya Melnikova, Thailand's Sunisa Jongsawat and the leggy lass from India, Moni Kangana Dutta. If the line-up is big, wait till you hear what the ladies are sporting. The models slip into swimwear from some of the biggest brands in the world like Alberta Ferretti, Jean Paul Gaultier, Diane von Furstenberg with accessories from Lanvin, watches by Hamilton, eyewear by Fendi, and photographic equipment by Canon, thus making this year's calendar bigger, better and even more international!

However, only a select few in the 56 and more "Kingfisher Countries" across the world will receive a copy of this much sought-after calendar directly from the desk of the chairman of the UB Group, Dr Vijay Mallya. "I briefed Atul to work in a space that would create images that were sensual yet understated. The accent was on simplicity and working with natural elements. With Kingfisher Airlines going global the time was right to source some of the finest modeling talent worldwide for 2009," Dr Mallya states.

As for Kasbekar who has been an intrinsic part of all Kingfisher calendars, this edition has seen him make big changes too. "Given Dr Mallya's brief, the Six Senses Hideaways were the perfect locations for the 2009 edition given their amazingly simple yet luxurious properties. The images this year have been photographed for a graphic layout that has two images per page," explains the photographer. That's twice as nice!
